In the fall of 2016, Okanagan College was awarded funding for the construction of a new Trades Training Facility at the Vernon campus. The project addresses a significant ongoing challenge in the North Okanagan region by providing a permanent home for Trades training, located in one of the five fastest growing regions in British Columbia. Built to a minimum of LEED Gold standards, the building will reduce Okanagan College’s carbon footprint, since it consolidates programs to energy efficient space from inefficient space leased off campus.
